Aims:
- To explore participants’ ideas on peace
- To get started on the topic
Participants:
Two or more, although it can be difficult with more than 25-30 participants
Time:
It can be very quick, as little as 5 minutes
Materials:
- Flip charts
- Markers
Procedure:
I) Write the word “peace” in capital letters on a flip chart.
II) Ask participants what ideas come to their minds in connection with the word. Encourage participation – quantity is more important than quality. Write all emerging ideas on the flip chart. If necessary, use more charts and stick them on the wall so everybody can see them.
III) Find connections between the ideas expressed and link them by using different colour markers on the flip chart.
Note:
This is a brainstorming session. The facilitator shouldn’t give any opinion on the ideas expressed by participants. All ideas are welcome and should be written down.
